Fifth phase of Uus-Veerenni launches

In early 2023, the largest residential quarter in Tallinn city centre will gain an additional 12 apartment buildings with 137 apartments and 8 storefronts.

We will add a third interior courtyard to the existing two interior courtyards on the Veerenni Street side of the Uus-Veerenni development (merko.ee/veerenni) and build four six-storey buildings, two four-storey buildings and six three-storey apartment buildings around it. The new buildings will be at the addresses Pille 11 and Veerenni 36b and will mark the completion of the frontage along Veerenni Street.

The sizes of the one- to four-room apartments in the energy class B building will range from 34 to 118 square metres. The three-storey “city villa” type of buildings will have only one apartment on each floor. The apartment buildings are connected with a shared underground parking level. Many of the apartments have balconies or terraces, all of the buildings have a lift, and a landscaped interior courtyard with recreational and play areas will be established between the buildings.

The architecture for the new development phase at Uus-Veerenni was designed by Tõnis Tarbe ja Johann-Aksel Tarbe and is similar to the designs of previous buildings along Veerenni Street. The courtyard between the buildings will also be similar. Besides the recognition from the other residents, the interior courtyard – built in 2020 based on a design by KOKO architects – won the Association of Landscape Architects annual prize in the category of best courtyard design.

The cornerstone for Uus-Veerenni was laid in 2019 and it thus far has 23 buildings with 283 apartments and 12 commercial units. Three five-storey buildings are currently under construction at Tiiu 12, and the 84 apartments will be ready for move-in in 2022. All told, over the years we will build about 50 apartment buildings with close to 1400 new homes in Uus-Veerenni. A nursery school and commercial building will also be built in the area.
