Merko begins construction work on event centre and infrastructure at historical former Krulli factory buildings

The historical former Krulli metal and machine manufacturing plant’s repair workshop will, from September 2027, be home to a multifunctional event centre. The construction of the development’s infrastructure will run until summer 2028.

Krulli Kvartal AS – the developer of the Krulli Quarter project in the North-Tallinn district – and Merko are linked in more than one way. While the joint venture Krulli Kodud is developing the residential part of the quarter, now a period of major activity will also kick off for Merko’s construction crews.

The construction contract governing the building called Krulli event house covers the restoration and renovation of the old industrial building at Krulli 4d to turn it into a multifunctional event venue. The design by KOKO Architects envisions a fully contemporary, approximately 2100-square metre building where the historical repair shop once operated.

The historical structure will be preserved, and two above-ground levels will be built into it along with the addition of a basement level. This will allow the facility to host diverse events – concerts, theatre performances, conferences, banquets. Completion of the event centre is planned for September 2027.

During the first phase of construction of the Krulli Quarter infrastructure, we will establish the external utility lines, accessways and streets necessary for its functioning and also develop landscape architecture designs. The infrastructure is planned for completion by summer 2028.
