Yesterday, a ceremony at Tallinn Town Hall honoured people and organizations who have made a noteworthy contribution to the advancement of adult education and lifelong learning. Merko won the title of “Learner-friendly employer of the year” – attesting that the company has created conditions conducive to its employees’ professional growth and lifelong learning.
Awarded during Adult Learning Week, the title confirms that Merko values education, knowledge-sharing and professional growth. Lifelong learning at Merko means more than just official training sessions or coursework; it takes place at all times and in all formats – sharing experiences with partners in discussion, meetings and seminars and solving various challenges that come up in work. Every new situation, experience and cooperation offer a chance to study and grow.
As Aleksei Jašin, Tallinn’s deputy mayor for education said at yesterday’s award ceremony, “A city that learns is a strong and developing city.” The same can be said about Merko – a company that learns is a strong and growing company.
The Merko community’s knowledge, experience and commitment is the underpinning of high-quality construction. One of our strengths is that knowledge is in constant circulation and development. Our people support one another, share experience and collaboratively seek new solutions. That makes Merko’s know-how a dynamic body of knowledge that grows and adapts to changing conditions.
This honour is a collective tribute to everyone at Merko – people who seek new knowledge, share experience and learn through work. Every discussion, collaboration and successfully solved problem helps to build better buildings and infrastructure and also a smarter future. Learning does end with school – it is our everyday method for self-development, building better buildings and homes for our clients as well as a better Merko.
Many thanks to all students and teachers at Merko!
