Merko is Student Friend of the Year for 2024

At the Estonian Student Awards gala held by the non-profit MTÜ Student Estonia, outstanding university students were recognized. The Student Friend of the Year award was also handed out, going to Merko.

It’s very important for us to support and encourage youth along their educational path. Targeted outreach with students has become inseparable from Merko’s everyday work. It’s a matter of honour for us to contribute to training the next generation. I’m very glad that what we have done is appreciated by youth and universities. We are proud of the recognition and would like to credit everyone at Merko who have made a contribution to earning this honour.

The Estonian Student Awards are aimed at recognizing, on behalf of the Estonian student body, individuals, organisations and actions who stood out over the past year. The title is awarded to individuals or organisations who have significantly supported the student community and helped advance student life.

All students at institutions of higher education in Estonia could make nominations. The winners were selected by a two-level committee consisting of representatives of schools, the minister of education and research and other figures in society. The winners were announced and prizes – Golden Raven statuettes – handed over at the gala.
