Merko continues to be most valued employer among technology students
At an event held on 4 September, Merko successfully retained its title of most attractive employer among technology students.
The employer branding agency Instar conducted the Estonia-wide survey of job expectations and employer reputation for the 15th time. The goal was to determine employees’ expectations and the organisations they would most like to work for. Since 2017, the agency has also compiled rankings for sectors, as chosen by representatives from specific specialities, such as technology students.
It was the second straight year that tech students rated Merko the most attractive employer and the third time in the history of the survey. We finished first among tech students in 2023 and 2021, and have made it to a podium spot on seven occasions since 2017.
The survey, which was held from March to May this year, drew responses from around 6000 students at the university and vocational school level and people with work experience in economics, IT, construction, the humanities, engineering, logistics and other fields. They rated the attractiveness of 301 Estonian organisations as employers.
In recognising the best, Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry director general Mait Palts said the hallmark of a successful company was not only its financial results but how it contributed to an environment that made employees feel valued and motivated. “An attractive employer’s brand starts with a conscious effort to ensure that every employee feels being part of the team and wants to and has the confidence to recommend the employer to others. That contributes to the success of the organisation and development of all of society,” said Palts.
An attractive employer title is a major honour for the work done everyone at Merko and gives confidence that we are moving in the right direction when it comes to inspiring the next generation of engineers. We have accomplished a lot together and students have taken note of our efforts. We’re glad and proud of that.
Many thanks to everyone who contribute to Merko’s education projects – supervisors of interns and final theses, organisers of lectures and tours for students, people assisting in special youth-oriented events – every action counts!
