A home in the Erminurme quarter – in harmony with nature and culture.

From the Erminurme quarter next to the Estonian National Museum—already home to 140 families and continuously growing into an increasingly cohesive living environment—you’ll find the Martini family’s eye-catching home, where the emphasis is on meticulously thought-out bespoke solutions and bold use of colour.

The best fragments from different worlds

For Martin, the Raadi area in Tartu has always held a special appeal. It brings together the best of different worlds: a nature-oriented setting with lush greenery and numerous parks; a rich cultural life thanks to the neighbouring Estonian National Museum; and even Tartu Town Hall Square is just a 30-minute walk away. According to Martin, the Erminurme quarter developed by Merko is a new, rapidly evolving, calm and safe neighbourhood—one where stepping out the front door truly means hearing birdsong instead of traffic noise.

Julged ja sügavad toonid lisavad isikupära

When designing their home, the Martini family aimed to create a warm and inviting living environment that is modern, timeless, and stylistically refined. They wanted the interior to be a little bolder and more distinctive, which is why brighter and deeper colour tones were used throughout the space. Martin has experimented with several bespoke, made-to-measure solutions that come together beautifully through their striking appearance and carefully considered functionality. In addition, the home features plenty of integrated lighting solutions, which help to enhance the cosy atmosphere and pleasant ambience, especially during the darker hours.

Every element thoughtfully considered

According to Martin, the most challenging part of creating their home was having to envision the overall look of the apartment with every single detail already at the purchasing stage. It was also important that everything in the home would remain relevant and useful in the years to come. Replacing items later simply because they are no longer fashionable or no longer serve a purpose can be both frustrating and costly. The interior design process was supported by interior architect Maarja Mets, whose expertise helped the team arrive at a result that satisfied all parties involved.
