Construction of new apartment building starts in Lahekalda development
We launched Lahekalda in 2019, and since then, 10 buildings on the naturally scenic promontory in Maarjamäe ꟷ between the Kadriorg and Pirita districts of Tallinn ꟷ have been completed, along with recreational infrastructure meant for residents. By autumn 2016, the Paekalda 17 residential building will be completed, 55 apartments in which are now on sale.
Paekalda 17 is an eight-storey energy class A building with windows overlooking the Bay of Tallinn and its surrounding lovely scenery. The apartments nearing completion have 1-4 rooms, with floor space ranging between 35–124 square metres. The architecture was designed by Arhitektuuribüroo PLUSS.
“What we’re building in Lahekalda is a finely honed living environment, fusing modern architecture and public space designed according to contemporary principles, greenery and tranquillity around the area. Lahekalda is the best choice for those looking for a home with distinction, a sense of safety and calm, while having all of the comforts of life in the city,” said the development director of Lahekalda, Ines Prual.
As to the reasons that interest is so high in Lahekalda, Merko’s sales director Irina Piirmets said: “Lahekalda is very secluded, passers-by don’t otherwise easily wind up here, and the city’s traffic arteries do not pass through here. The whole area was created for the Lahekalda residents and their guests. The attractive courtyards, community garden, outdoor gym, the outstanding artwork Cattail and the steep coastal cliff into a park – these distinguish Lahekalda from other neighbourhoods.”
Close to 500 new homes have been completed in Lahekalda, and about 25 more apartment buildings with more than 1000 apartments are due to be completed before the project is finished. We will develop and build an integral and secure living environment that breathes as one with the human inhabitants and nature. It will be like a small town of its own that, besides the high-quality homes and amenities already in place, will eventually have a local shop, nursery school and spacious park area.
