EUROMONEY: Merko is the best Estonian real estate developer

In its latest real estate market survey, the world leading business and investment magazine Euromoney once again declared Merko Ehitus the best Estonian real estate developer.

„That we have, for the fifth time, been awarded the title of the best Estonian real estate developer in an international survey is a great recognition for all Merko employees who contributed towards the construction of houses and shaping of the living environment for very many people“, said Merko Ehitus head of Estonian real estate development division Tiit Kuusik. Previously, Merko has been recognised in the Euromoney survey in 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

„Rather than merely constructing places intended for living, what we create are well-being spaces. We want our development projects to fit into their surroundings and complement the urban space. We want our customers’ homely feeling to be born in the presales stage, grow on entering their residential area and reach its climax in a flat customised according to their wishes“ – is how Kuusik described the principles Merko draws upon when preparing and implementing their development projects.

„We are very happy to see the results of the Euromoney survey prove that apartment buyers value our product and that we have managed to maintain quality and adjust to our customers’ needs in our apartment development“, Kuusik added.

Recent years have seen Merko finishing the construction of its largest development project, the Paepargi residential area, which has become home for a total of 600 families the latest of whom will receive their keys in the next few months.

It took ten years for the integral living environment to appear in place of the former wasteland in close proximity to Kadriorg park, where a park with pedestrian and cycle tracks had been laid out even before the construction of the apartment buildings began. To improve the well-being of its residents, a pedestrian bridge over Pae lake, an outdoor gym, a basketball court and a ski track forming a part of Estonian Health Trails have been erected at later stages; a fountain built on the lake pleases the eye.

In Tallinn, Merko is currently constructing the Uus-Veerenni residential area and Pikaliiva residential district while Kodusadama apartment buildings are being erected in the Noblessner harbour district and Rand city villas near the Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel). In Tartu, construction works are underway in the Tähepargi residential area.

In over 25 years, Merko have constructed and sold more that 4500 homes and created an integral and sophisticated living environment for thousands in the Baltic countries. In order to guarantee the best quality and comfort for apartment buyers, Merko manages all stages of the apartment development starting with the draft and design of the new project and finishing with the apartment construction, sale and warranty servicing.

The Real Estate Survey, a real estate market survey by the economic magazine Euromoney (www.euromoney.com), was conducted for the 14th time this year. The results of the survey are based on ratings by other market participants and experts in the field with consultants, developers, investors, banks, business customers and end users all participating in the survey and giving their ratings. Respondents are asked which companies they believe to have stood out as the best product and service providers in the real estate sector within the last year.
